Once you get a job you’ll be entitled to a contract of employment; this is an agreement between your employer and yourself that records what your job entails and what is expected of you and of the employer. All workers have a right to a 'written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment', and your employer can’t change your contract without your agreement. This written statement must be given to you within two months of starting work.

Find out more about what the Contract of Employment covers at Direct Gov.

If you have any problems with your Contract of Employment you can get help from  Advice Guide.

In addition the Greater Manchester Pay and Employment Rights Advice Service offers advice and support about your rights at work. They can also give you information about organisations in your area that could help you further.
