Here's some information about local transport options and how to get about as cheaply as possible.
You’ve plenty of choice locally – buses, trains and the tram, and in addition you could walk or cycle. As a young person you can often get discounted travel tickets so it’s worth exploring! Look at Goto it’s got lots of information on travel aimed at young people.
The GMPTE is responsible for public transport locally, this means that even though there are different bus and train companies operating in the area that you can often use your travel tickets with the different companies, or use your train ticket to travel on parts of the tram network. They can be contacted on 0871 200 22 33, Monday - Friday 7.00am - 8.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8.00am - 8.00pm
Look at Metrolink too.
